About the book
Whether you're an engineer, architect, or IT leader, this guide by Liz Rice provides a practical mental model to help you evaluate eBPF-based tools and leverage kernel programmability within your organization.
- Learn how safe, event-driven programs run directly inside the operating system kernel without modifying application code or updating the kernel itself.
- Understand how eBPF delivers deep system-level visibility, dynamic zero-disruption updates, high performance, and reduced operational complexity compared to traditional tools
- Explore real-world applications including networking, runtime security, observability, and custom CPU scheduling.
- Trace eBPF's rise from open source innovation to widespread industry impact, through adoption by hyperscalers, cloud providers, and enterprise platforms.
How Kernel Programmability Is Reshaping Infrastructure Tools.
Discover how eBPF is transforming modern cloud native infrastructure with this clear, accessible overview of the technology that has revolutionized networking, observability, security, profiling and more.
